On the occasion of the International Day of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, the Centro Papa Giovanni XXIII of Ancona took centre stage at an institutional event held at Palazzo Chigi, having been selected as one of the ten organisations nationwide chosen to represent best practices in inclusion.
The Centre, a key player in numerous initiatives in the city of Ancona, showcased its work through the Fricchiò Solidarity Catering project, a food service activity that on a daily basis promotes the values of workplace inclusion for people with disabilities, offering pathways towards personal growth, autonomy and real professional opportunities.
Representing this outstanding initiative were Jeff and Daniela, two of the young people who embody the heart of Fricchiò. They also had the opportunity to meet Alessandra Locatelli, Minister for Disabilities, and to present her with the Torrone Solidale, another well-known initiative of the Ancona-based cooperative, which brightens the Christmas season in Ancona and beyond.
As underlined by the Centre, these initiatives reaffirm that “once again, work proves to be not a tool of assistance, but a driver of empowerment, social inclusion and future prospects.”
