For Valentine’s Day weekend, the village of Numana offers an itinerary dedicated to lovers, built around some of its most recognisable locations. The starting point is the square of the Sanctuary, where a large letter box has been installed, designed to collect messages, thoughts and promises left by those passing through the town centre. A marker made available to the public invites visitors to turn a brief stop into a simple, immediate gesture, capable of restoring a moment of intimacy within a shared space.
Next to the letter box stands a heart-shaped bench, conceived as a meeting point for couples: a place to take a photograph, but also to pause for a moment and enjoy the quiet atmosphere that the “Queen of Conero” can offer even during the colder months. Moving towards Piazza Nova, visitors encounter the so-called “Bench of Love”, a privileged viewpoint overlooking the profile of Mount Conero descending towards the Adriatic Sea. Here, the landscape becomes an integral part of the experience, accompanying the visit and reflecting the relationship between the village and the sea.
At the end of the itinerary, beneath the arch of the Tower of Numana, a red heart set within a luminous star has been installed, created by the Pro Loco Humana Picena. The installation adds a visual element to one of the most iconic passages of the historic centre, creating a vantage point that combines scenic appeal with the memory of the place.
Together, these elements form a route that invites visitors to experience Numana at a slow pace, guided by its views and lights. It is a way to rediscover the village at a time of year when silence, the sight of the sea and the closeness of loved ones seem to find a natural continuity. Ultimately, this is the simplest gift Numana offers: the opportunity to share a moment, unhurried, in front of a landscape that speaks for itself.
