The Conero area is getting ready for an intense and atmospheric December, with events that weave together solidarity, Christmas spirit and authentic flavours. From the initiatives of the Centro Papa Giovanni XXIII in Ancona, to the community celebration in Polverigi, and the artisan markets in Piazza Cavour, the calendar offers many opportunities to meet, connect and share the beauty of the festive season.
Santa Claus Village
13–14 December – Centro Papa Giovanni XXIII, Ancona (4:00–8:00 p.m.)
On Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 December, the square of the Centro Papa Giovanni XXIII will be transformed into a true Christmas village. Santa’s House, creative workshops, traditional games and fire shows will bring to life two days designed for both children and adults.
Saturday’s programme includes the Camerano Music Band, the “Manine Creative” workshop, Christmas photo sessions with InsolitoLab and a Christmas dinner by reservation, followed by the reading of the book Modi Anconetani by Stefano Stinga Calabrese.
On Sunday, music will take centre stage with the Pop Conero Choir, along with new surprises for the whole family. The event is free of charge, and throughout the weekend Torroni Solidali will be available in support of people with disabilities.
The Magic of Christmas in Polverigi
13 December – Piazza Umberto I, Polverigi (from 4:00 p.m.)
On Saturday 13 December, Polverigi welcomes residents and visitors with a festive afternoon in the heart of the village. Streets will be illuminated with lights and sounds, accompanied by live music, local wines and traditional flavours. A Christmas selfie point will allow adults and children alike to take home a special memory of the day.
The initiative aims to strengthen the sense of community and share the beauty of Christmas together. Strolling through the streets of Polverigi thus becomes an opportunity to experience an intimate and authentic festive atmosphere.
City Centre Markets
13–14 December – Piazza Cavour, Ancona
The centre of Ancona comes alive with the “Artisans and Producers” markets in Piazza Cavour. The stalls offer local products, artistic craftsmanship and many gift ideas for the festive season. This event highlights local creativity and gives citizens the chance to meet producers directly and discover their passion.
Walking among the stands means discovering flavours, colours and traditions that make the Christmas period truly unique. The markets become an open-air living room, where visitors can breathe in the magic of the holidays while supporting local businesses.
Three different events, one shared inspiration: Conero and Christmas. December becomes an invitation to experience solidarity, culture and tradition together, turning every gathering into a moment of shared celebration.
