The Festa del Mare, one of Ancona’s signature city events, expands to three days and becomes a rich program of activities, from concerts to scientific outreach, as well as food and wine experiences and local exploration. A series of events designed to promote the city’s image in the tourism sector.

From September 5 to 7, the festival will dress the city in celebration, expanding the areas involved: from Passetto to the Cathedral, including Piazza Cavour, Corso Garibaldi, Parco del Cardeto, and the Old Port, thanks to the introduction of the “sea-to-sea” route.

Among the new features is the first edition of the Stamira Award, a recognition dedicated to an Ancona woman who has distinguished herself with initiatives, actions, and tangible contributions across various fields.

The new Festa del Mare will be illuminated on Saturday, September 6, by a concert from Fabrizio Moro, the Sicilian singer and two-time winner of the Sanremo Music Festival. The artist performing on the previous evening remains a mystery, as negotiations are still ongoing.

The sea will be the star of the festival, with areas dedicated to scientific research in collaboration with UNIVPM and CNR-IRBIM, and street food at the Old Port, where fishermen will be allowed to go beyond fishing restrictions, offering the catch of the day in a special event along the quay.

The festival will conclude at 11:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 7, with fireworks closing the event and marking the end of the Ancona summer season.

The City of Ancona and organizers remind visitors that a completely free shuttle service will be available.
