The “headless city”

Known as the “headless city”, Osimo preserves 12 enigmatic headless Roman statues, dating from the 1st century BC to the 2nd century AD, today displayed inside the Town Hall.

The historic center is welcoming and well preserved, perfect for a stroll among shops, cafés and monuments. Here you can visit the Archaeological Museum and the Cathedral of San Leopardo, one of the oldest in the Marche region.

Pilgrimage destination

Osimo is also a pilgrimage destination: here you will find the Sanctuary of St. Joseph of Cupertino, patron saint of students. The crypt and the saint’s rooms, still open to visitors, tell the story and spirituality of this Franciscan mystic.
